Detained journalist Zemo Ağgöz - Yiğitsoy was released today (October 27) but has to stay under house arrest.
On Tuesday, 11 were journalists working for two Kurdish media outlets, Mezopotamya Agency (MA) and JINNEWS, detained in simultaneous house raids across six cities.
Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reporter Zemo Ağgöz was taken into custody during the raid on her home as part of the Ankara-based investigation.
Her spouse later told bianet that Ağgöz had to wait for six hours to breastfeed her baby during her detention.
Digital devices such as computers, tablets and phones in Ağgöz's house were confiscated.
The Penal Judgeship of Peace released Ağgöz on the condition of house arrest and judicial control. At the exit of the courthouse, Ağgöz - Yiğitsoy said, "We are all journalists, and all the friends detained inside are also journalists. We once again stated that journalism is not a crime. We want our friends to be released as soon as possible. Thank you all for your solidarity." (AÖ/WM/VK)
