Having her seventh hearing today (June 17), journalist Semiha Alankuş has been acquitted of "membership of an organization."
While Alankuş did not attend today's hearing at the Diyarbakır 9th Heavy Penal Court, her attorney Resul Tamur was present at court.
Announcing his opinion as to the accusations, the prosecutor of the court indicated that the statement of an anonymous witness cannot be a basis for the judgement in itself and demanded the acquittal of the journalist.
Similarly, attorney Tamur also said that the statement of an anonymous witness should not be taken as a basis and requested acquittal.
Accordingly, the Diyarbakır 9th Heavy Penal Court has ruled that journalist Semiha Alankuş shall be acquitted of the offense charged. (HA/SD)
