Journalist Hakan Bülent Attacked

Local Adana newspaper, the Ekspres daily’s Board Chairperson and Permanent Press Card Owner, Hakan Bülent Yardımcı has been attacked by an unknown assailant.

Yardımcı was battered by an unknown person on Atatürk street last night (April 27), as Ekspres reports. The journalist conveyed that the attacker told him “Are you an enemy of Hüseyin Sözlü. I’ve brought you his greetings”.

Yıldırım taken into Adana Numune Education Research Hospital following the attack has been discharged.

Yardımcı was issued incapacity report of 30 days, Sabah daily reported.

Who is Hüseyin Sözlü?

Hüseyin Sözlü had served as Ceyhan Mayor from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) for three terms. Sözlü nominated as a candidate for Adana Metropolitan Mayorship by MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli, was elected Adana Metropolitan Mayor on March 10.

Furthermore, Sözlü carries out duties of Turkey Local Administrations Employer Union, Turkey Employer Unions Board Membership, and Wrestling Federation Board Membership. (EA/TK)
