JINHA Correspondent Rojda Oğuz is being released today from the Van M-type Closed Prison.
Oğuz had been taken into custody in the police raid conducted on January 5 in the Van Yüzüncü Yıl Melikşah Credit and Dormitories Institution Dorm with other 17 persons and had been arrested on charges of “being a member of the terrorist organization”.
Upon the objection petition submitted by her lawyer Sebahattin Kaya, the court had ruled for her release.
According to bianet’s Media Monitoring Report, there are 32 journalists under arrest in Turkey’s prisons. Two of them are JINHA correspondents Beritan Canözer and Vildan Atmaca. Canözer’s trial will be held today. (ÇT/DG)
