İstanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has been hospitalized after testing positive for Covid-19, Municipal Spokesperson Murat Ongun announced on Twitter today (October 24).
İmamoğlu later released a video message on his Twitter account, saying that he was in treatment and feeling well.
Today, I tested positive for COVID-19. I am feeling well and will be recovering in the hospital. Many thanks for your good wishes and support.

While his last test on Wednesday (October 21) was negative, he went to the hospital last night after having a fever, the mayor said, adding that his test result came today as positive.
He urged the citizens to comply with the virus measures and said, "I love you all."
İstanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş and İzmir Mayor Tunç Soyer, along with several other politicians and officials, wished İmamoğlu a fast recovery on Twitter. (AÖ/VK)
