Ekrem İmamoğlu, the candidate of an alliance led by the main opposition Repbulican People's Party (CHP), won yesterday's (June 23) mayoral election rerun in a landslide, bringing the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and its predecessors' 25-year rule in the city.

The polls made headlines in today's papers, with pro-government outlets saying either "Democracy Won," or "İstanbul Made its Decision."
