Turkey's Employment Organization (İŞKUR) declared that Soma Coal Inc.’s advertisement of 100 worker job slots has been removed.
Yesterday the media had registered Soma Mining Co’s job ad for 100 new workers with application deadline May 29, 2014.
The advertisement stated that the workers would be raised “through practice,” that completion of military service did not matter, and that “primary school and above” education sufficed for candidates.
İŞKUR stated today from their Head Office that said job ad had been posted before the mine killing in Soma and that it has been removed from circulation.
İŞKUR’s statement is as follows:
“Some press and media organs have pointed out on news items on May 20-21 that Soma Mining Co was seeking 100 mine workers for Soma through İŞKUR.
“Researching our institution’s records in response to said news items, we have detected that Soma Mining Co applied to our institution for the hiring of 100 workers in the mining occupation on April 29, 2014 with request no. 00002055756. We have removed said applications dated before the woeful accident in Soma from circulation.” (ÇT/PU/BM)
