15 people have been taken into custody this morning (April 1) in İzmir within the scope of operation against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
İzmir Security Directorate Anti-Terror Branch Directorate units launched operation on determined addresses in the early hours this morning.
Four hunter rifles, documents belonging to ISIS and equipment have been seized in the operation.
It has been stated that the detained suspects train personnel for ISIS to be sent to conflict zones, and they themselves join clashes.
According to the reports on the newspapers, the detained are the ones who trained S.Y. who launched bomb attack on Peoples’ Democratic Party’s (HDP) provincial buildings in province of Adana and Mersin in 2015.
Everyone were released in İstanbul trial
Seven suspects tried over ISIS membership and administratorship were acquitted by İstanbul 13th Heavy Penal Court on March 24.
A bomb was found in one of the suspects’ vehicle.
96 defendants of whom seven arrested including Ebu Hanzala whom is claimed to be among ISIS’ Turkey leaders are being tried in the case. (AS/TK)
