Activities of İpek Media incorporated in Koza Holding have been terminated.
Press activities of Bugün TV, Koza Basın, Yaşam TV incorporated in İpek Media, and Koza Production, Rek-Tur Marketing and İpek Online Informatics subsidiary to the company have been halted whilst preserving their legal entities.
Koza Anatolia Metal Mining Share Company in its statement said its subsidiaries operating in media companies have been decided to be shut down.
The statement added that activities of its press companies which are defined as “constantly making los and consuming their own capital” have been terminated whilst preserving their legal entities.
According to the statement, only activities making profit will continue.
What had happened?
Trustee was appointed to İpek Media on October 27.
The decision was met with protests by both employees and the public, and police had escorted the delegation of trustee into the building by dismantling the door of İpek Media building.
Live broadcast of Kanaltürk following arrival of the delegation and protests in front of the building were cut off by police, and the delegation had entered Bugün editorial office by police escort.
Over 60 workers were fired after the first thing of the appointment. (EA/TK)
