An investigation has been launched against the Diyarbakır MPs of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Remziye Tosun and Musa Farisoğulları on the ground that they attended the funeral of Mehmet Yakışır, a member of the People's Defense Forces (HPG), which is a military wing of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
Mehmet Yakışır, who was killed in an armed conflict in Gümüşhane on July 13, 2018, was buried in Yeniköy Cemetery in the district of Bağlar in Turkey's southeastern province of Diyarbakır.
Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation against the HDP MPs Tosun and Farisoğulları, who attended the funeral of Yakışır, on charge of "propagandizing for a terrorist organization."
Remziye Tosun and Musa Farisoğulları were elected as Diyarbakır MPs at the parliamentary election on June 24, 2018. (ÇT/SD)
