Intervening against the protest of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Youth Assembly members for the ancient city of Hasankeyf in Batman, the police and soldiers have taken at least 10 people into custody by battering them.
Organized by the Batman Hasankeyf Coordination and Amed Hasankeyf Coordination and supported by HDP Youth Assembly, the protest of "Watch for Hasankeyf and Tigris Valley" has not been allowed.
As reported by the Mezopotamya Agency (MA), HDP Batman MP Ayşe Acar Başaran and members from the HDP Youth Assembly and coordinations visited the historical places in Hasankeyf.
During their visit to Hasankeyf, Başaran and the ones accompanying her were surrounded by the police and soldiers.

Slogan banned
Marching from the historical site to the district center, the group chanted the slogan, "Hasankeyf is history, lay claim to your history."
Stating that the slogan has been banned, police officers and soldiers intervened against the group and detained at least 10 people. (EMK/SD)
