The initiative said they submitted an appointment request to Minister of Justice and hoped to meet him prior to Pinar Selek's trial on December 13.
Being found "not guilty" in three consecutive cases for involving in the 1998 Spice Bazaar bombing, Pinar will stand trial for the same charges after a court order on Nov 22.
The initiative spokesperson Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu said they were to start a signature campaign to protest the trial.
"The release of resisted verdict for Pinar Selek must have been forwarded to General Council of Appeals Court instead of a new trial," Gergerlioğlu said.
Several intellectuals were mentioned invoolved in the initiative including Abdürrahim Semavi, Baskın Oran, Cahit Koytak, Cihan Aktaş, Emrullah Beytar, Ferhat Kentel, Halim Yılmaz, İbrahim Sediyani, Kemal Gökhan Gürses, Mehmet Ali Devecioğlu, Mehmet Arif Koçer, Mehmet Bekaroğlu, Neslihan Akbulut Arıkan, Nevzat Çiçek, Nil Mutluer, Özlem Yağız Abacı, Selahattin Çoban, Sıdıka Çetin, Şanar Yurdatapan, Şinasi Haznedar, Taner Ayaz, Temel İskit, Ufuk Coşkun, Ümit Kıvanç, Ünal Ünsal and Yıldız Ramazanoğlu.
