The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has released its "Industrial Production Index" for June 2018.
The report has shown that while the industrial production in June has increased by 3.2 percent in comparison with June 2017, it has fallen by 2 percent when compared to last month.
Increase has fallen short of expectations
The analysts previously expected that the seasonally adjusted industrial production would increase by 4.4 percent in June.
They also forecasted that the industrial production on annual basis would increase by 4.7 percent and the seasonally adjusted industrial production on monthly basis would fall by 0.9 percent.

However, as the figures released by the TurkStat have shown, while the industrial production in June 2018 has increased by 3.2 percent in comparison with the same month last year, it has fallen by 2 percent in comparison with May 2018.
When compared to the figures in the same quarter last year, it has been seen that industrial production in the second quarter of 2018 has increased by 5.3 percent. (HA/SD)
