Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş has appealed to Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office as to whether there is an attempted murder against himself with respect to suspicious mark on rear glasses of his car.
In the application, attacks and impunity on HDP and its members have been reminded. It was also stated that governorate statement was made “without conducting sufficient research” and it has been a reflection of impunity policies.
The statement has included the following request:
“We demand and ask for the perpetrators and instigators behind the act to be found and start a criminal case against them over ‘attempted willful murder’.”
What had happened?
A mark had been spotted on rear glass of Demirtaş’s car, which has caused suspicion as to an “attempted assassination”.
While police taking the car under examination had stated that the mark could be a bullet mark, Diyarbakır Governorate expressed no traces of an armed attack could be found.
“Dead is providence", posted Demirtaş on his Twitter account.
Yüksekdağ: “We don’t trust the governorate”
HDP Co-Chair Figen Yüksekdağ claiming the governorate statement of denying the attack is made to cover up the incident has said, “We will have an independent lab examine it. We wait for the car to be pulled from security post”.
Yüksekdağ drawing attention to rumors of assassination they heard a week before the incident, expressed that attack launched against Demirtaş is an explicit assassination attempt. (EKN/BK/TK)
