Muharrem İnce, the former Yalova MP of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and its Presidential candidate in 2018, has announced that he will resign from party membership during the day.
Launching his "Homeland in Thousand Days Movement" in Sivas on September 4, İnce has announced his resignation with a press statement.
"This government is quite content with this opposition and this opposition is quite content with this government," İnce has said and added:
"They have polarized the society into two camps. They have divided the society into two, like a watermelon... One of them is in one camp and the other is in the other camp; everyone is content with where they are. But we are not content with it. We are not content with this polarization."
Accordingly, İnce has said that he, with his movement, is "offering a new way for people." Noting that "there is solution and hope for Turkey", he has said, "We will be an opportunity, a way out, an option for Turkey."
