BirGün photojournalist Recep Yılmaz wasn't accredited at the entrance of the Democracy and Martyrs Rally in the Yenikapı district of İstanbul for being a BirGün photojournalist.
Yılmaz, who was accredited and entered the meeting site after a discussion which lasted 45 minutes, was told that his accreditation had been cancelled and then he was taken out of the meeting site.
Recep Yılmaz announced his experience on Twitter:
"My entrance to the meeting site has been blocked due to being a BirGün daily photojournalist.
"I went to the accreditation desk in the press entrance and an officer said he had to ask about BirGün daily.
"They decided to ask the chief of security because of my persistence, but still there is no information.
"I was told that my accreditation was cancelled and I was removed from the rally site after the rally started.
"While I was waiting for the starting of speeches, some officer came and said that my accreditation has been cancelled and said 'can we take you out'.
"And they took me to the exit and said to the officers 'take this feller out'". (HK/UA)
