The control building of a hydroelectric power plant regulator has been bombed in the countryside of Dersim province.
According to Radikal newspaper, the incident took place late last night with 7 armed individuals from TKP/ML TIKKO organization held two security guards ineffective and installed remote control bomb mechanism at the control building near Dinar river.
The explosion reportedly wiped out the entire technical system in the building. Following the explosion, 7 organization members explained two security guards that hydroelectric power plants harmed the environment and they wouldn’t let that happen. They added that they bombed the building because they wanted the power plant to be deactivated.
Authorities dispatched crime scene teams to the area for further investigation.
According to Özgür Gündem newspaper, the same hydroelectric power plant and its regulator have been targeted by a group of Maoist Communist Party (MKP) members who attempted to set a fire. (NV/BM)
