Sibel Balaç, a prisoner who has been on a hunger strike demanding a fair trial since December 29, has been sent back to prison after staying at the hospital for nearly three weeks.
On September 7, Balaç was taken from the Bakırköy Women's Prison in İstanbul to the Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Hospital in Ankara, the capital.
Bakaç was taken out of the hospital early yesterday (September 25), and the officers told her lawyers that she was being taken to the İstanbul Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK). Nuray Balaç, her mother and companion at the hospital, was not allowed to go with her.
The People's Law Bureau (HHB) said on Twitter that they could not identify her whereabouts despite being verbally told that she was taken to the ATK.
According to hospital reports, Balaç is not in a situation to take care of herself and should be released, it said. (RT/VK)
