Human Rights Association (İHD) Deputy Chair and Diyarbakır Branch Chair Raci Bilici was taken into custody in a house raid this morning (March 15).
The İHD Diyarbakır Branch declared they couldn’t obtain any information regarding Bilici’s arrest.
Bilici was taken to Diyarbakır Provincial Security Directorate Anti-Terror Bureau.
The Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TİHV) as well demanded immediate release of Bilici. “Detentions and crackdown on human rights defenders are unacceptable”, the foundation said.
Bilici was among the 4,350 teachers who were suspended from duty in Turkey’s southeastern Diyarbakır province on September 8, 2016. (AS/TK)
