Having lost his life in an armed attack in front of Agos newspaper in Şişli, İstanbul on January 19, 2007, Editor-in-Chief of Agos newspaper Hrant Dink will be commemorated in several cities and countries across the world on the 13th anniversary of his assassination.

The center of commemoration ceremonies to be held for Hrant Dink will be the front of former Agos newspaper office in Şişli, as it was also the case in previous years. For the ceremony that will start at 3 p.m., Hrant's Friends (Hrant'ın Arkadaşları) have released the following statement:
"It has been 13 years since Hrant Dink was murdered. For 13 years, no proper step has been taken in the name of justice. The ones who instigated the murder and the ones who protect the murderers are together and they are all extremely effective figures with authority. This year, we are calling on the ones who turn a blind eye and remain indifferent to the murder and the inner-state network behind it: It is not late to be ashamed."
"On January 19, 2020 Sunday, at 3 p.m., we commemorate #HrantDink where they shot him. #BuradayızAhparig (We are here)."
DurDe Platform organizes a panel discussion
The DurDe (Say Stop) platform will hold a panel discussion at 7 p.m. on January 16 in Cezayir Meeting Hall in Beyoğlu, İstanbul.
Elif Akgül, Ferhat Kentel, Meltem Oral, Tibet Şahin, Serdar Korucu and Şenol Karakaş will address the audience in the panel discussion "13 years - 100 hearings have passed: Keep struggling for justice for Hrant".
He will be commemorated in Bodrum
Hrant's Friends in Bodrum in Muğla will commemorate late journalist Hrant Dink with an event entitled "First-hand witnesses of Hrant and our Armenian truth from document to memory". The event will be held at Heredot Kültür Merkezi (Cultural Center) on January 19 at 2 p.m.
Moderated by lawyer Ergin Cinmen, a discussion panel will be held by writer Silva Özyerli and Prof. Dr. Tayfun Atay.
Commemoration conference in Ottawa
Ottawa-based non-profit organization Voices in Dialogue (ViD) will commemorate him with an event open to the public at Ottawa Public Library on January 18. It will start at 1 p.m. and and a conversation will be held with Middle East historian Assoc. Prof. Howard Eissenstat at Lawrence University.
While Ömer Ongun and Silvia Holtrop will stage a dance performance with Gorani, which is interpreted again in memory of Hrant Dink, the screening of "Sarkis" by Gülsün Odabaş featuring the 1955 pogrom will also be held as part of the event. Garo Altinian will also give a concert.

Film screening in Boston
The US-based Zorovik (Armenian Activist Collective) Platform will hold a documentary screening on January 19. The event will start in the Fong Auditorium at Boylston Hall of Harvard at 7.30 p.m.
The 40-minute "Heart of Two Nations" documentary by Nouritza Matossian will be screened and a conversation will be held with Nouritza Matossian. Dr. Ohannes Kılıçdağı will also attend the event.
Eleni Varikas held a conference in Boğaziçi University
Established to remember and commemorate the legacy of Hrant Dink, Boğaziçi University's Hrant Dink Memorial Lecture on Human Rights and Freedom of Speech has been organized since 2008.
This year, the guest of the memorial lecture was Eleni Varikas. In the event held on January 8, Eleni Verikas held a speech entitled "The Outcasts of the World: The Figures of the Pariah."
Commemoration ceremony by Aka-Der association
Anatolian Culture and Research Association (AKA-DER), Jineps newspaper and Nor Zartonk (New Awakening) Association commemorated Hrant Dink in an event held in Education and Science Laborers' Union (Eğitim-Sen) No. 2 Branch office in Kadıköy on January 11. (HA/SD)
