This is how Deutsche Welle, which has organised its second Global Media Forum, describes the event:
"Media representatives from around the world, high-profile experts of inter-governmental and non-governmental organisations, politicians, artists, entrepreneurs and scientists sit around the same table at the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum. A simple philosophy drives the initiative: Those working on the future have to think in networks - and in global dimensions."
This year's topic is "Conflict Prevention in the Multimedia Age".
bianet's project coordinator Ertuğrul Kürkçü is also participating in the event, held from 3 to 5 June. He will present on the changes in politics due to digital media in Turkey, together with Kerim Arpad from Stuttgart's Turkish German Forum (DTF) and Murad Bayraktar from West Deutsches Radio (WDR).
This is the second time the independent media body Deutsche Welle is hosting the forum. For more information on this year's programme, click here. (EÜ/AG)
