A man who calls himself "Fırat Delikanlı" attacked a homosexual person and posted the images of the attack on his Instagram account. The man was taken into custody yesterday (March 25).
In the images posted by the perpetrator, there was an expression of "Province Aydın." As reported by Kaos GL, the attack happened in İzmit.
The image showed a person soaked in blood, with the male perpetrator holding him by the hair. It was understood that the perpetrator who used the pseudonym "Fırat Delikanlı" was Fırat Kaya, using the last name "Delikanlı", which roughly translates as "young man."
Outrage on social media
Fırat Delikanlı shared the image of his homophobic hate attack on social media, attaching the note, "man sex gay pervert I heard when did I see I held fight his face in pieces blood heavy get well soon pervert gay filth." He also wrote the name of the person subjected to the attack in his story.
After the images were shared on social media and caused a public outrage, a campaign has been launched under the hashtag #FıratDelikanlıTutuklansın (Arrest Fırat Delikanlı). Several social media users have also denounced the hate attack on the perpetrator's account.
The perpetrator was detained amid public outrage. The Kocaeli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has announced that he has been detained. (EMK/SD)
