Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca has responded to the news about the suspected cases of coronavirus in central Anatolian province of Aksaray.
"We have not yet had any patients definitely diagnosed with carrying coronavirus", Minister Koca has said and added that 12 people, including 10 citizens of China, have been hospitalized as a precaution.
Governor: As a precautionary measure
Governor of Aksaray Ali Mantı has also indicated that the persons in question have been hospitalized as a precautionary measure.
A group of 10 tourists from China arrived in the district of Sultanhanı as part of a Cappadocia tour and one of the tourists appealed to a health clinic with cough, according to the statement of the Governor.
12 people, including the driver of their bus and the tourist guide, have been placed under observation as a precaution.
Governor Mantı has also indicated that the news regarding the alleged infection of the workers of BOTAŞ Lake Tuz Underground Natural Gas Storage Facility do not reflect the reality.
Provincial Director of Health: There is no problem
Aksaray Provincial Director of Health Kerim Yeşildağ has also said:
"Considering the country the tourists come from, we have placed them under medical observation. Their lung x-rays are normal. Their full blood exams are normal. We will keep them under observation for 24 hours. There are no problems at the moment." (EKN/SD)
