Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Group Deputy Chair and İstanbul MP Filiz Kerestecioğlu has submitted a parliamentary inquiry about children who died due to the explosion of the objects on the ground.
In the inquiry demanding that Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu respond, Kerestecioğlu asked, “What sort of precautions has your ministry been taking and compensatory activities carrying out with respect to deaths caused by residual ammunition?”
19 children lost their lives in the last two years
Two explosions exploded in two days in a neighborhood which was under curfew in Turkey’s southeastern Yüksekova, Hakkari. Berat Oktay (10) died on March 10. İbrahim Akdağ was severely injured due to an explosion exploding in his home’s garden in the same neighborhood on March 11.
According to Mezopotamya Agency, 19 children lost their lives, 36 people were injured due to explosion of residual ammunition in the last two years. (BK/TK)
