Unidentified individuals last night launched an armed attack on a Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) office in the Altındağ district of Ankara, the capital.
A single bullet struck the meeting room of the party's premises, causing material damage, Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reported. No one was present inside the building when the attack took place.
The police arrived at the scene in the morning, cordoning off the area and keeping citizens at a distance. Journalists trying to capture images were also prevented from approaching the site.
The Kurdish issue-focused party has often faced challenges and tensions in Turkey's political landscape. Several armed attacks targeted offices of the HDP, and its sister party, the Green Left, across the country prior to the elections in May. (RT/VK)
