Detained on June 26 during police raids in the Kurdish-majority Diyarbakır province, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) member Rojbin Çetin has been remanded in custody for "membership of an illegal organization."
Çetin is a member of the HDP's local administrations committee and Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA) women's organization.
The HDP announced after her detention that Çetin was tortured at her home for hours by the police, which also used dogs against her.

Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation and issued an arrest warrant for 64 people in line with the information and documents obtained during a raid on Democratic Society Congress (DTK) on October 9, 2018.
The police also conducted raids in İstanbul, Şırnak, İzmir, Batcan and Van, detaining many people. (EMK/VK)
