Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in its statement has announced that the appartment of the party’s Co-Chair Figen Yüksekdağ in İstanbul was subjected to a raid by security forces.
In the house raids in İstanbul against the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) in the morning hours today (June 15), 11 persons including members and administrators of the party have been taken into custody.
HDP in its statement has noted that an unlawful police raid has been conducted to Yüksekdağ’s declared place of residence in use and requested an investigation be launched immeditately into those ordering and carrying out the raid.
“We know that these unlawful operations are being carried out on commands originating from the orders from the [Presidential] Palace. The Palace aims at by pointing our party, administrators, MPs and compounds as targets and try to push us out of the democratic political area”.
11 persons under custody
In the statement made by the head office of the ESP, it has been reported that raid had been conducted on the houses of Istanbul Provincial Director Çiçek Otlu and SKM Chair-Spokesperson Fadime Çelebi and noted that members and executives of the party Ali Haydar Keleş, Hilmi Toy, Adar Temel, Ferhat Karakaya, Emrah Görtaş, Taner Taş, Hüseyin Şahin, Alican Albayrak, Sidar Balsever, Mehmet Salih Çekim and Aykut Kaplan had been taken into custody.
