The bill has been approved with 376 votes
The legislative proposal concerning Constitutional amendment as to lifting parliamentary immunity of the MPs against whom have cases has been voted at the Grand National Assembly (TBMM) General Assembly.
531 MPs voted, the proposal has passed with 376 aye votes, 140 against, five abstaining, seven empty, and three invalid.
The proposal will be enacted following President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s approval. Since the bill received more than 376 aye votes, referendum won’t be held.
There are summary of proceedings on 50 HDP MPs
There are summary of proceedings on 138 MPs in parliament
There are 27 summary of proceedings issued on Justice and Development Party (AKP) members, 51 on People’s Republican Party (CHP) members, 50 on Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), nine on the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), and one on independent Ankara MP, Aylin Nazlıaka.
The number of cases is 667 on 138 MPs.
There are also summary of proceedings on HDP Co-Chair, Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ.
According to the statement issued by Minister of Justice, Bekir Bozdağ on Tuesday, the charges included in the summary of proceedings are as follows:
“216 of the summary of proceedings are over terror crimes, 201 over crime of insulting, 11 over duty crimes, 38 over fraud crimes, six over threat crime, 11 over violation of confidentiality, 55 over promoting crime or criminal, 24 over inciting people to hatred and hostility, 119 over opposing Law on Rally and Demonstration, 11 over opposing Law on Election, 3 over opposing Law on Political Parties, 13 over slander, one over opposing Law on Foundations, two over turning people against the military service, one over damaging property”.
