Halk TV’s responsible editor is facing up to 11 years of prison for allowing the broadcast of police tank vehicle with f-word graffitis on about then-PM Erdoğan during Gezi Resistance.
Editor Müşerref Seçkin is charged with “insult due to profession” to Erdoğan as well as praising crime and criminals, and igniting public to hatred”.
While the case indictment has been admitted bu Ankara 30th Assize Court, the aforementioned police tank (TOMA) had f-word graffitis targeting Erdoğan.
According to the original piece on Milliyet newspaper, the indictment has been drafted upon Higher Board of Radio and Television (RTÜK) monitoring and council reports. The zooming of the aforementioned police tank was reportedly taken as evidence of “insult”. Seçkin will stand trial in the days to come. (EA/BM)
