A greeting was sent to filmmaker Çiğdem Mater yesterday (May 31) at the 25th Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival.
Mater is among the seven defendants of the Gezi Trial who have been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

The first screening of "Disturbed Earth", directed by Didem Pekün and produced by Çiğdem Mater, was held yesterday at the Flying Broom.
Halime Güner the president of the Flying Broom Foundation and the 25th Flying Broom Program Director Nil Kural spoke before the movie screening:
"Çiğdem Mater was supposed to be with us to present her film. However, she has been imprisoned in Bakırköy Prison since April 25 for a movie she hasn't made."
"Like our colleagues in the film industry, we too say that 'We are the movies that Çiğdem could not make' and we are sending greetings from Flying Broom."
