Turkish Statistical Institute has announced the inflation data for September 2017.
When compared to August, the inflation rate has risen by 0.65% compared to December of the previous year by 7.29%, to the same month of the previous year by 11.20% and to the twelve months moving averages basis by 9.98% in September 2017. The average increase for 12 months is 9.66%.
The inflation rate for twelve months was 10.68% in August, 2017.

The highest monthly increase was 2.08% in education
In September 2017, the indices rose for transportation 1.58%, for miscellaneous goods and services 1.34%, for hotels, cafes and restaurants 1.02% and for clothing and footwear 0.80%.
The only monthly decrease was 0.23% in food and non-alcoholic beverages.
In September 2017, the index declined only for food and non-alcoholic beverages amongst the main groups by 0.23%.
The highest annual increase was 16.10% in transportation
Food and non-alcoholic beverages with 12.50%, miscellaneous goods and services with 12.06%, health with 11.90%, recreation and culture with 11.85% were the other main groups where high annual increases realized.
The highest monthly increase was 1.08% in İzmir province
The highest increases in Consumer price index were recorded in Konya and Karaman with 8.49% compared with the December of the previous year; Gaziantep, Adıyaman and Kilis with 12.89% compared with the same month of the previous year and in Zonguldak, Karabük and Bartın region with 11.52% on the twelve months moving averages basis.
Rate of changes in main expemditure groups
In September 2017 within average prices of 414 items in the index, average prices of 61 items remained unchanged while average prices of 281 items increased and average prices of 72 items decreased.
