The Mardin Governor's Office has announced that the ban on demonstrations and events in the province has been extended for a month due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Events in both open and closed areas are banned according to the governor's order.
People will have to obtain permission from the governor 48 hours in advance to hold demonstrations, press meetings, concerts, festivals and commemoration events, said the governor's office.
All events and demonstrations in the southeastern province have been banned since 2019 when Mardin Mayor Ahmet Türk was replaced with a trustee by the Ministry of Interior. (EMK/VK)
