German Minister of Foreign Affairs Sigmar Gabriel has said that travel convenience has to be provided for scientists, students, artists, authors, journalists and business people from Turkey.
According to a report by Deutsche Welle Türkçe, interviewing with Kieler Nachrichten the minister Gabriel from the Social Democrat Party (SPD) said:
“I favor a travel convenience be provided for certain groups that are important for us like academics, scientists, students, artists, authors, journalists and business people.
“In this way, hand of the people who represent liberal thought and democratic culture in Turkey will be strengthened.
“We’ve only reacted to Mr. [Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan so far but we can determine our own action capability by doing this”. (EKN/TK)
