Amid increasing number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and deaths in Turkey, President and ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the public following the cabinet meeting on Monday (April 26) and announced that the country would be in "full lockdown" for a period of nearly three weeks, from April 29 to May 17.
However, this decision has been criticized on the grounds that the government has not unveiled any financial support packages for the citizens so that they can meet their expenses during the period when they will be unable to work due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
This issue has also hit the front page of Uykusuz humor magazine.
At the top of the page, the magazine shares a recent statement by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, who has said, "Our home is our safest stronghold. We will continue struggling at our home for some time."
Depicting the Health Minister on its cover page, the magazine has placed a family "who have eaten up their house" across him.
The family asks the Minister, "Will there be any financial aid?" Minister Koca answers, "But you have not entered the house."
The family respond: "We have eaten up the house."
