The representatives of Iran, Russia and Turkey will meet in Tehran on September 7 to discuss a possible operation to be launched in the province of Idlib in Syria, where the three countries have been supporting the Damascus government.
While it is expected that the nature of the support to be provided and the extent of the operation to be conducted will come to light after the meeting, US President Donald Trump shared a message regarding Idlib on Twitter yesterday (September 3).
Trump made the following statement on Idlib:
"President Bashar al-Assad of Syria must not recklessly attack Idlib Province. The Russians and Iranians would be making a grave humanitarian mistake to take part in this potential human tragedy. Hundreds of thousands of people could be killed. Don't let that happen!"

Pompeo also objected to operation
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also objected to a possible Idlib operation by sharing the following message on his Twitter account:
"Sergey Lavrov is defending Syrian and Russian assault on #Idlib. The Russians and Assad agreed not to permit this. The U.S sees this as an escalation of an already dangerous conflict".
Message from Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran
During his visit to Damascus yesterday, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Javad Zarif also said,
"The remaining terrorists in Idlib should be cleared off so that the peace process can begin, refugees can come back and the environment for the reconstruction of Syria can be created." (PT/SD)
