The Red Crescent has sent the postage stamps to prison administrations required for child prisoners to send letters free of charge.
General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses (CTE) had held talks with the Red Crescent for the arrested and convicted children in prisons to be able to send letters free of charge, according to state-run Anadolu Agency.

By the end of the talks, it was agreed that the Red Crescent will pay postages for the letters of child prisoners.
Human rights activist and Civil Society Association in Penal system former chair Zafer Kıraç had staged a peaceful protest in front of the Ministry of Justice in this year’s January, and brought the subject to public agenda.
With the protest, a petition also was launched for free letter right of child prisoners. (YY/TK)
