5 out of 27 people are released regarding the operation against media ve police force.
Director of TV show “Tek Türkiye” (broadcast in Samanyolu Channel) Naci Çelik Berksoy and scriptwriters Radiye Ebru Şenvardar and Elif Yılmaz are released around 23:30.
Scriptwriter Makbule Çam Elamdağ is released in Van after the procedure due to minor age.
Journalist Ahmet Şahin is released in İstanbul after the procedure.
Director Naci Çelik Berksoy spoke to press after his statement:
“Apparently, we used something that Hocaefendi dictated us in Tek Türkiye. They said something about the terrorist organization, the organization of Tahşiye and I said that I have no knowledge of this. There is no such thing in history, I swear. There has been censorship due to the film but no arrests.”
Claims of establising terrorist organisation
Yesterday, 27 out of 31 suspects who are issued a arrest warrant are taken into custody so far in the operation based in 13 different cities. Four of them are released.
It is found out that journalist-writer Nuh Gönültaş, who is issued an custody warrant, fled abroad from Atatürk Airport. Hüseyin Gülerce, an ex-writer in Zaman Newspaper, is not yet taken into custody.
An investigation has started early in the morning regarding 36 people including media workers ve 5 detained police officers, as part of the operation lead by Public Prosecutor’s Office of Istanbul.
Hadi Salihoğlu, Public Prosecutor of Istanbul, expressed in his statement that those have been issued a custody warrant are accused of “establishing, managing and being part of an armed terrorist group” as well as “aspersion and fraud”.
Ties with the organisation “Tahşiye”
Salihoğlu: “We have started an investigation about those who claim to make an investigation by creating false evidence and saying they investigate ‘Tahşiye’”.
It is noted that the investigation started over the claim of an investigation for “Tahşiye”, as well as some press members and police officers creating false evidence in 2009 saying the organisation is led by Mehmet Doğan known as Molla Muhammed.
In 2009 following an operation against “Tahşiye”, 11 were caught including Mehmet Doğan. Doğan, who was arrested, was discharged after serving 17 months in prison. Known as “Molla Muhammed”, retired imam Mehmet Doğan is also known to have disagreed with some of Fethullan Gülen’s ideas.

Hidayet Karaca: Chairman of Broadcast Group of Samanyolu TV. He is also a member of High Commission of Press Council and Chairman of the Television Broadcasters Foundation.
Mutlu Ekizoğlu: Former Police Chief of Siirt and former Organized Crimes Desk Chief of Istanbul. Ekizoğlu has directed many operations including Ergenekon, Balyoz, Odatv and Matchfixing operations. He was dismissed from profession following 17 – 25 December operations.
Tufan Ergüder: Former Police Chief of Hakkari and former Vice Chief of Fight Against Terrorism Desk of Istanbul. Having directed the operations of KCK, Balyoz and Ergenekon before, following 17 – 25 December operations, he has resigned from duty by protesting, saying that “he can’t take it anymore”.
Ertan Erçıktı: Former Public Security Chief of Istanbul. Following 17 – 25 December operations, he was deported from duty. He also directed the squad which disclosed the murder of Sarai Sierra and other assaults on Armenian citizens. He was known for throwing himself onto a suicide bomber.
Ahmet Şahin: Columnist from Zaman Newspaper. He has written over 30 books including “To Live with our Prophet”, “How a Muslim Should Live”.
Fahri Sarrafoğlu: Having worked for İhlas News Agency, TGRT FM ve Yeni Şafak newspaper, he was also giving personal development seminars.
Hüseyin Gülerce: Former columnist of Zaman newspaper. Following 17 – 25 December operations, he was known for his affiliation with “Cemaat”. Gülerce presented his statement regarding the “Parallel Structure”.
Nuh Gönültaş: Former columnist of Zaman newspaper. Transitioned to Tercüman newspaper in 2009, he is writing ever since Tercüman was changed to Bugün.
Naci Çelik Berksoy: Movie and TV show producer. He directed the show “Küçük Gelin” in Show TV.
Ali Samim Noyan: Scriptwriter of “Şefkat Tepe”. Showing Muhammed the Prophet as a light beam was heavily criticized by President Erdoğan.
