A 15-year-old construction worker, was killed after failing from the sixth floor of a building in the Silivri district on the outskirts of İstanbul.
Ali Koç was from Gürpınar, Van, in eastern Türkiye and had moved to İstanbul to work.
After his killing, M.A., an engineer, was referred to the courthouse for employing a minor.
On August 25, a 14-year-old child was killed after falling from a building under construction.
According to the Health and Safety Labor Watch, at least 57 child workers had been killed in the construction sector in the nine years until June 2022.
The sector with the highest number of child worker killings was agriculture and forestry, with 316 children killed in the same period, according to the İSİG. (AÖ/VK)
