A 15-year-old child was allegedly shot by soldiers yesterday (July 16) while he was pasturing sheep in Çaldıran, Van, the Human Rights Association (İHD) stated, citing the cousin of the child.
Azat Bağa (15) is currently in intensive care at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University's Dursun Odabaşı Medical Center, it said.
The child was shot in the back at around 4.30 a.m. in Yukarı Çilli (Çiliya jor) village, Yeni Yaşam newspaper reported.
His mother told the Mesopotamia Agency (MA) that his son worked as a shepherd in Çilli. "We have not been informed about his health condition," she said.
