Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk replied to a parliamentary question which was submitted by Republican People's Party (CHP) Ankara MP Alpay Antmen on the harassment in the Kadriye Moroğlu Anatolian High School in the district of Küçükçekmece in İstanbul.
Selçuk said that they canceled the investigation because "the complainant gave up her complaint" and "the claims are not verified."
Eylül, the student who filed the complaint, told that the Minister's statements are not true. "The penal report which was written after the investigation is the biggest evidence that I did not give up my complaint" said the student.
Eylül complained to the school administration about the teacher who was harassing her on Whatsapp, but after the investigation that was conducted by the school administration did not yield a result, she filed a lawsuit against the teacher this year, when he began her university education.
Chief Public Prosecutor's Office of Küçükçekmece district filed an indictment, charging the teacher with "sexually abusing a child" and "petty threat."

Harassment incident on parliamentary agenda
CHP MP for Mersin Alpay Antmen submitted a parliamentary question directed at National Education Minister Ziya Selçuk.
He asked the reason why the teacher accused of harassment continues working and why the school administration did not notify the judicial authorities of the incident.
Selçuk: 'The complainant gave up her complaint'
Selçuk said in his reply that they canceled the investigation because "the complainant gave up her complaint" and "the claims are not verified."
"It is being stated that a complaint petition was submitted to the school principal by the student and her parent on 21 November 2016, an investigator was appointed regarding the claims in the petition, the complainant gave up her complaint during the investigation, the claims were not verified and the investigation was canceled" the Minister said.
Eylül: 'They resort to lies''
Eylül told bianet that the statement made by the National Education Minister does not reflect the truth:
"I filed a complaint and giving up my complaint never even crossed my mind. Then, the investigation, even it was conducted unjustly, was ended and the teacher was fined even it was for show. The fine was not satisfying but the penal report which was added to the case file by the defendant is the biggest proof that I did not give up my complaint" Eylül said.
"They resort to lies, because they are aware that they are guilty and their guilts are big. The National Education Minister joining this chain of lies is for sure sad. This wrong should be immediately corrected" the student added. (EÜ/AÖ/VK)
