An explosion has occurred in front of the Midyat Security Directorate on Nusaybin road in Midyat district of Mardin province in southeastern Turkey at around 11 a.m. today (June 8).
The Prime Minister has announced the death toll
Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has announced that three people including one police officer killed in the attack, over 30 wounded.
The Doğan News Agency (DHA) reported the number of wounded as 34.
ANF: Over 20 police officers killed
According to the report of Fırat News Agency (ANF) based on the information provided by hospital authorities, more than 20 police officers have been killed.
The Security Directorate building where the explosion took place is close to the sub-Governorship building.
Many have been injured in the explosion and taken to hospital by ambulances dispatched to the area.
With the impact of the explosion many buildings have been damaged.
Gag order issued
Following the explosion, the Supreme Board of Radio and Television has issued gag order as to the explosion.
Article series of Ayça Söylemez from bianet as to the 10 bomb attacks that took place as of Reyhanlı states that there is gag order and confidentiality order on the investigation in all of the 10 attacks. (YY/DG)
