The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced that after Afrin was brought under the control of Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and Free Syrian Army (FSA), at least 13 militias from FSA were killed and more than 25 others were injured in a mine explosion that occurred in city center last night (March 18).
In the statement published by the Observatory, it was stated that there were incidents where the shops, houses and vehicles which used to be in the possession of civilians were looted and robbed, resulting in clashes between groups that carried out the loots and other groups who rejected the loot.
The state-run Anadolu Agency reported that the explosion which took place in Afrin city center was caused by a trapped handmade explosive, claiming the lives of 11 people, seven of whom were civilians.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also announced that in Almadra village in Rajo, Afrin, six members of FSA, who were hit by a rocket, lost their lives. (ŞA/SD)
