An improvised explosive device planted by members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) has exploded during a military operation carried out in Gabar Mountain region in Turkey's southeastern province of Şırnak.
Three soldiers lost their lives and five others were injured in the attack.
The injured soldiers have been delivered to the nearby hospitals for treatment.
Making a statement regarding the attack, Şırnak Governorship reported that five PKK members were killed in the operations carried out in Altıntepe region of Şırnak's Uludere district and the Gabar Mountain region. The Governorship also informed that the mechanism was detonated via remote control. (EKN/DG)
