The decrease in value of Turkish Lira against US Dollar has been continuing.
The exchange rate of US Dollar, which was around the level of 5.07/5.08 TRY when the markets closed on Friday (August 3), hit another record high by reaching 5.18 Turkish Lira this afternoon (August 6).
The loss of value in Turkish Lira continued during the day. As of 11.15 a.m. today, one US dollar was 5.14 TRY. At around 1 p.m., the exchange rate of US dollar exceeded 5.18 Turkish Lira while one Euro was also 5.97 TRY.

After the US announced its decision to impose sanctions on the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu and the Minister of Justice Abdülhamit Gül in the wake of Pastor Andrew Craig Brunson not being released from house arrest, the exchange rate of US Dollar exceeded 5 Turkish Lira. It also hit the record level of 5.11 TRY on the same day.
