Events and demonstrations have been banned in Dersim for 15 days. The ban in the province has been imposed once again on the grounds of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Demonstrations and events are banned in Turkey's eastern province of Dersim by frequently repeated bans of the governor's office.
The recent statement of the governor's office has said that events and demonstrations may be held in the province by permission for 15 days.
According to the statement of the office, the ban aims to "protect physical distance to prevent transmission in the aftermath of the emergence of new variants in the COVID-19 outbreak, to ensure public security and to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of people."
The governor's office has noted that the events and statements for the press may be allowed to take place in the province on the condition that an application is made to the governor's office or sub-governor's offices 48 hours before the event or press statement in question.
Accordingly, the following events have been banned in the city for 15 days until January 23, 2022 at 23.59 pm: "Meetings and protest marches, rallies, public meetings, protest demonstrations, sit-in protests, commemoration ceremonies, hunger strikes, opening stands, petitions, concerts, festivals, distributing leaflets and handouts, opening posters, lighting and carrying torches, conferences, panels, cinevisions."
