Climate movement volunteers who want to draw attention of local administrations to the climate crisis will come together at 14 points, which will be streets, squares and parks, on September 8 Saturday.
The volunteers will call for permanent measures to be taken and organize informatory events for participants.
Purpose of the 748 events that will be held in 89 countries including Turkey is to make a call on local administrations and democratic mass organizations, which will come together in Global Climate Action Summit in California, US from September 12-14, to take solid steps in line with Paris Agreement to stop climate change.
The events will be held in the following points in Turkey:
Kadıköy Kalamış Park, Sarıyer, Kilyos and Reşitpaşa in İstanbul; Nilüfer Music Festival in Bursa; Seferihisar Pazar Yeri in İzmir; Antalya Kaş Downtown and Alakır Valley; Abidin Dino Art Park in Adana; Kırklareli Central Yayla Park; Eskişehir Odunpazarı Square; Balıkesir Ayvalık İsmet İnönü Culture Center and Altınoluk Antandros Park; Çanakkale Güzelyalı Public Beach and Mount Ida.
A forum will be held at Anıttepe Park Amfi in capital Ankara on September 9 and what can be demanded from local/national administrations to struggle with the crisis will be discussed. (EKN/TK)
