The Council of the European Union has kept Turkey out of its list of countries deemed safe for international arrivals.
Updating the list yesterday (July 15), it added Ukraine to the list and removed Rwanda and Thailand.
While Turkey has speeded up its vaccination campaign since early June, daily new coronavirus cases have been on the increase recently, surpassing 7,000.
In June 2020, the EU Council adopted a recommendation on the gradual lifting of the temporary restrictions on non-essential travel into the EU. It has periodically updated the list. (TP/VK)
