After this speech, Erdoğan made a similar statement at the Gala Dinner of the Turken Foundation:
"We will take steps, which are similar to the operations of Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch, in the east of Euphrates in the forthcoming period."
Turken Foundation was established by the Youth and Service to Education Foundation of Turkey (TÜRGEV) and Ensar Foundation in New York in 2014.
In his article published on the Kommersant newspaper in Russia today (September 24), Erdoğan also wrote that they want to launch an operation into the east of Euphrates and have been waiting for the support of Russia.
Erdoğan also stated, "We expect that Russia lends its support to Turkey in its struggle against the centers of terror such as the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party), PYD (Democratic Union Party) and YPG (People's Protection Units)", criticizing the support provided by the US to the PYD. (HK/SD)
