President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has met with US President, Barack Obama within the frame of Nuclear Security Summit held in US capital Washington D.C.
The written statement issued by the White Palace has said, “US-Turkey cooperation, fight against terror, and immigration issues discussed for security of the region”.
In the security-oriented meeting both countries’ efforts in fighting Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have been addressed as well.
The statement recorded that President Obama conveyed his condolences as to the bomb attack launched in Turkey’s southeastern Diyarbakır province, and “the US voiced its support to Turkey’s security and their common struggle against terror”.
State-run Anadolu Agency (AA) reported that the meeting took 50 minutes.
AA citing presidential sources noted that bilateral talk took place following the dinner given in honor of Nuclear Security Summit participant state and government leaders at the White Palace. (HK/TK)
