An order banning the import of electronic cigarettes and all related products was published in the Official Gazette today (February 25).
Imports of electronic cigarettes, electronic shishas and all related electronic devices, spare parts and solutions are banned according to a decree by President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
It also applies to e-cigarette products that use heating or incineration, including electronic hookahs, regardless of nicotine content.
According to the decree, the Ministry of Trade will regulate the entrance of all international passengers possessing electronic cigarettes to the country.
Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca said in October 2019 that the government would ban electronic cigarettes.
Known for his stance against tobacco products, Erdoğan previously said he did not permit an international company to make electronic cigarette investments in Turkey. (TP/VK)
